Maternity photography is a unique aspect of my business in Raleigh because it is one of the few instances where I am not working with babies or children. As much as I absolutely adore working with little humans, it’s always a nice change of pace to be directing and posing adults who *almost* always do what I ask 🙂

When this gorgeous mama messaged me about potentially doing a maternity session in my studio I was immediately excited and slightly nervous because before now I have only done maternity sessions outdoors. As soon as she sent me her inspiration photos I got a really good feeling that we were going to have a lot of fun with this session. And we absolutely did.

Styling The Maternity Session

For her first outfit, Courtney wanted to do some really casual, iconic Calvin Klein styled shots. Did she absolutely nail these or what?

A lot of my clients choose to wear long dresses (don’t get me wrong, I LOVE that look) but it was so fun and refreshing to do something completely different! We also had Courtney’s husband join in for some photos – I love incorporating dads into at least a few shots.

He was so sweet and helpful during the session – I know these two are going to make great parents!

Maternity Studio Session Outfit #2

The next look that Courtney chose is a really sexy, form-fitting black dress. I absolutely love how this outfit shows off her beautiful curves and that gorgeous bump so well.

I just can’t get over the gorgeous curves! The contrast of the black dress against the light walls in my studio is perfection (if I do say so myself).

I enjoyed this session SO much and I cannot wait to meet their little boy in just a few weeks! Being able to to meet couples and work with them prior to a newborn session is always so much fun and just makes the newborn session even more relaxed.
