Timeless, simple, and quiet. Black and white heirloom portraits draw the eye to expression and detail. They live beautifully on a gallery wall, in a hallway, or above a fireplace for decades.

Warm, clean, and true to life. Color versions hold the details of clothing, hair, and eyes that fade from memory faster than you'd think. Some families display both versions side by side.

After booking, you'll receive styling guidance and a short questionnaire so I know who your child is and how they're feeling about cameras and strangers. Wardrobe is kept simple to keep the focus on your child.
Before your session

Sessions are up to 30 minutes per child. I work calmly and patiently, following your child's lead. There's no forcing smiles. The best heirloom portraits come from real moments, not performed ones.
During your session

Your curated gallery is ready within 2-3 weeks, with every image in both black and white and color. You'll choose a collection from your gallery and use your print credit toward any keepsake product.

Every heirloom portrait session begins with a $200 session fee, paid at booking to reserve your spot. This covers your session itself and is separate from your collection purchase. After your gallery is delivered, you'll choose the collection that fits your family best.

What should my child wear?
Heirloom portraits are framed tight, so only the collar and shoulders show in the final image. I recommend a simple, classic top with a beautiful collar. Think Peter Pan collars, ruffled necklines, smocked details, or a crisp white button-down. Soft fabrics like cotton and linen photograph best. Avoid logos, busy patterns, or anything trendy that will date the portrait.
What ages work best for heirloom portraits?
Heirloom portrait sessions are designed for children between 9 months and 5 years old. Old enough to sit independently and let their personality show, young enough that childhood is still fully written on their face.
If you want to capture those softer baby features before they start to fade, I recommend booking before your child turns 2.
Can I bring more than one child?
Absolutely. Additional children from the same immediate family are $150 each, added to the $200 session fee. Each child gets their own portrait session within the studio time.
How long is the session?
Up to 30 minutes per child. Heirloom sessions are intentionally focused. Short, playful, and unhurried, which is what young children respond to best.
How will I purchase a collection?
After I finish editing, I'll email you a gallery link. You'll have 48 hours to choose your collection right from your gallery. Once you've chosen, you have 30 days to use your print credit on any keepsake product.
What if I only want digital files?
My heirloom portrait collections are designed to result in printed artwork. Each includes a print credit you can apply toward wall art, albums, canvases, and other keepsakes. Digital files are included so you can share and remember, but the heart of an heirloom session is what eventually gets framed and hung.
